Urban Circularity
Transforming discarded lottery tickets into durable public furniture through innovative material development and circular design. As part of Sazka’s reLosy initiative, IMMINENT developed an entirely new way to give used scratchcards a second life. Rather than simply recycling the material, we explored how it could become a functional, long-lasting product with real public value. Working closely with designer Filip Krampla and a network of manufacturing partners, we led the project from the initial concept through material research, prototyping, supplier coordination, and production. The result is a modular outdoor seating system made from upcycled lottery tickets, designed to withstand public use while showcasing the potential of circular materials. The installation was placed in a public park in Hodonín, contributing to the revitalization of the area following the devastating tornado and demonstrating how waste can be transformed into meaningful urban infrastructure.
This isn’t just upcycling, it’s redefining what waste can become.
The challenge? Transform a fragile, throwaway material into something solid and lasting. The result? A modular, interlocking system that adapts to various public settings — from festivals to city parks. It’s flexible, bold in form, and doesn’t hide its origin: the lottery tickets remain visible, telling a story of renewal and transformation.
